Our pastured broilers use shelters that are moved daily so the flocks receive fresh pasture. The birds actually live on the ground, catching bugs and scratching in the soil. They receive plenty of sunshine and fresh air while being protected from predators. Their diets are a combination of grains and pasture resulting in a more flavorful and nutritious bird. |

The bottomless shelter allows plenty of sunlight and fresh air but provides protection from the hot sun, cold winds, and driving rain. |

We offer farm fresh brown eggs from our flock of
160 laying hens. They are truly free-range during the warm months using a
converted camper to lay their eggs and rest at night. The campers are moved
daily and on our farm follow the cattle. The fresh forage provides B
vitamins as well as carotenes, some of which the chicken turns into vitamin A.
Being exposed to the sun ensures the fat will contain vitamin D making the
pastured egg yolks the signature dark orange color. During the winter months
they are provided shelter in our barn. We also have a self-service egg
stand.

The laying flock enjoys foraging and hunting for bugs in the pasture. |

We are working on a system to pasture raise our Californian rabbits in warm weather. |
Rabbit is truly a delicacy. Higher in protein than any other meat, it is lower in calories and boasts less fat, uric acid, cholesterol and sodium. Once you try it, you’ll be back for more. |
