Murray Grey’s are true low maintenance, hardy beef cattle that combine the best traits of the Angus and Shorthorn breeds. They are polled, have outstanding carcass quality, an excellent disposition, are easy fleshing, calve easily and are highly fertile.
They have been selected, both in Australia, and here on our farm, for performance on grass with NO GRAIN. With today’s high grain prices and a developing market for “Grass Fed Beef”, they are a perfect fit.
They are also the “right” size ; big enough to produce a normal size carcass and small enough to mature early and finish on grass at 18– 24 months of age.
The Murray Grey breed is know for their mild disposition and the bulls are no exception. They are easy to work with yet strong and masculine. They carry muscling deep in their rear quarters for more saleable meat and less waste. |
