Text Box: About Murray Grey Cattle

· Gentle disposition

· Moderate frame

· Finish Choice on grass

· Dominate carcass competitions around the world

· Preferred by butchers and restaurants because of their consistent quality and tenderness

The Murray Grey breed originated in Australia about 100 years ago.  When a light roan shorthorn cow was crossed with black Angus bulls, silver grey calves were born.  These calves produced outstanding meat and were the foundation of the breed.

Murray Grey's are very docile and are known as the "the sensible, efficient " breed.  They were introduced to the United States in 1969.

Being a true beef breed, the Murray Greys are one of the few breeds that are high marbling and still retain their ability to flesh easily.   Their quiet temperament assures optimal pH levels, which lead to excellent meat color, taste and tenderness.
